Miss Judith Dockray
Consultant Urological Surgeon & Andrologist
FRCS(Urol)
GMC No. 6111922
Miss Judith Dockray is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist, bringing specialist expertise in men's health, andrology and general urology to Northern Medical Practitioners.
She studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge, graduating with distinction, and completed a master's in Urology with commendation during her surgical training across the UK. She was subsequently appointed to a Men's Health fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto — one of North America's highest-volume centres for male infertility and vasectomy reversal.
In Toronto she trained under leading exponents of the mini-incision vasectomy reversal technique, and is now one of a small number of surgeons in the UK to offer it. Her fellowship also developed particular expertise in the surgical management of chronic scrotal pain, on which she has published and is a recognised UK authority.
Returning to the UK, Miss Dockray was appointed Consultant Urologist in Sunderland, where she served as sub-specialty lead for andrology — reintroducing penile implant surgery for erectile dysfunction — and was part of a small regional team providing penile cancer care for the North of England. She established the first dedicated referral centre offering surgical management of chronic scrotal pain, treating patients from across the country.
Miss Dockray held an elected position on the Andrology Committee of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and teaches andrology to trainee surgeons. She has published widely on men's health conditions and has presented nationally and internationally on men's health, male fertility and chronic scrotal pain.
At Northern Medical she leads urology and andrology services, and supports the clinic's vasectomy and men's health care for patients across Newcastle and the North East.
