£725 All-Inclusive Booked Within Weeks

Whether you're driving from Teesside, taking the train from Yorkshire, or flying in from elsewhere in the UK or Ireland, Northern Medical is built to make travelling for a private vasectomy straightforward.

We're a 30-minute drive from Middlesbrough, 1 hour by train from York, and 11 minutes from Newcastle International Airport — which connects directly to London Heathrow, Bristol, Belfast, Dublin, Southampton, and Exeter. For most patients, the entire visit can fit into a single morning.

The procedure is no-scalpel vasectomy, performed under local anaesthetic by Dr Mike Fabricius — more than 1,000 cases completed. The fee is £725 all-inclusive: free phone consultation, the procedure itself, and the postal post-vasectomy semen analysis (PVSA) needed to confirm success.

Driving from Teesside, Durham, Sunderland, or Cumbria

Most Teesside patients reach us in 30–40 minutes via the A1(M) and A1. Durham and Sunderland are around 25 minutes. Carlisle and the Lake District are around 1 hour 15 along the A69.

We're right next to the A1 with free on-site parking and no time restrictions, and we can offer a slot outside morning rush hour if needed.

    Train from Yorkshire and Beyond

Newcastle Central is a 5-mile taxi ride from the clinic — around 15 minutes door to door. The East Coast Main Line connects from Darlington (30 mins), York (1 hour), Leeds (1 hour 25), London King's Cross (under 3 hours), and onwards.

For most distances, the train is easier than driving: no parking, no rush hour, and you don't have to think about driving home afterwards.

    Flying Into Newcastle

Newcastle International is 11 minutes from the clinic by taxi, and small enough that you're usually from gate to taxi rank in under 20 minutes. Direct routes operate to and from London Heathrow, Bristol, Belfast, Dublin, and Southampton, with year-round Loganair flights from Exeter on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. A morning flight in and an afternoon flight home is realistic on most of these routes.

Where to Stay if You'd Rather Not Travel Home the Same Day

The Premier Inn Newcastle Metrocentre is 3 minutes from the clinic — useful if you want to arrive the night before, take it easy after the procedure, or break the journey home. If you're flying, the Premier Inn Newcastle Airport sits right at the terminal door, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Newcastle Airport is a few minutes away — both work well if you've got an early flight or want to fly out the next morning rather than the same day.

    What £725 Includes

The fixed all-inclusive fee covers your free initial phone consultation, the vasectomy procedure itself, and the postal PVSA kit at 16 weeks. No consultation extras, no anaesthetic supplements, no separate semen analysis fee. A £150 deposit secures your booking; the balance is due 7 days before the procedure, or pay in full at booking if you prefer.

    The Procedure

No-scalpel technique under local anaesthetic, performed by Dr Mike Fabricius — over 1,000 vasectomies completed. The procedure itself takes around 20 minutes, with most patients in and out of the clinic within an hour.

Booking Your Vasectomy at Northern Medical

The first step is a free phone consultation with Dr Fabricius or Dr Sewart. No GP referral, no obligation, and no fee at this stage. Request a call-back through the form on this page, email us, or phone the clinic — we'll usually be back to you the same working day.

Once you decide to proceed, you'll be offered a procedure date — most patients are seen within two to three weeks. We take a £150 deposit at booking, with the balance due 7 days before your procedure (or in full at booking if you'd prefer the simpler admin). We'll confirm everything by email beforehand: directions, parking, what to bring, what to wear, and how long the visit will take.

If you're travelling more than an hour, let us know when you book. We'll prioritise mid-morning or early-afternoon slots, so the journey is straightforward in both directions, and we'll confirm exactly when you'll be free to leave.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about no-scalpel vasectomy for patients travelling to Newcastle.

How Long Will I Need to Be at the Clinic?

Plan for around an hour from arrival. The procedure itself is about 20 minutes, with brief pre-procedure preparation and 10 to 15 minutes resting afterwards before you leave.

Is it Realistic to Fly in for a Vasectomy?

For many patients, yes, and the maths usually works. With the major private hospitals charging around £2,000+ for a private vasectomy, the £1,275+ saving comfortably covers a return flight from London, Bristol, Belfast, or Dublin and leaves a meaningful margin. Newcastle Airport is small, quick through security, and 11 minutes from the clinic, so a same-day return on a morning flight is practical. We're happy to talk through timing on the free phone consultation.

Can I Drive Home After the Procedure?

While some patients choose to do so, we'd suggest not, particularly for longer journeys. You won't have been sedated, and discomfort is usually mild, but driving immediately after a procedure isn't ideal. If you've driven yourself, having a companion drive home is the better option, or take the train if that's possible from where you live.

Should I Bring Someone with Me?

It's not essential, many patients come alone, but it can make the day easier, particularly the journey home.

What if There's a Complication Once I'm Home?

Serious complications after vasectomy are uncommon. If anything concerns you, call or email us directly during clinic hours. For anything urgent out of hours, your GP or local NHS service is the right first contact, and we'll liaise with them as needed.

I Live Too Far for a Same-Day Return — Can I Stay Over Locally?

Yes, and many patients prefer to. The Premier Inn Newcastle Metrocentre is 3 minutes from the clinic, which suits patients who want to arrive the night before or take it easy after the procedure. If you're flying in, the Premier Inn at Newcastle Airport is at the terminal door, and the DoubleTree by Hilton is a few minutes away. Both make an early flight out the next morning straightforward. The procedure itself doesn't require an overnight stay, but breaking a long journey is sensible.

Can My Own GP Do the Post-Vasectomy Semen Analysis?

It's not usually needed. The £725 fee includes a postal PVSA kit you complete at home and post off. We receive the result directly. If your GP would prefer to take the sample for any reason, that's fine, but the postal kit is the simplest route for most patients, and we can arrange repeat samples if needed.

How Far in Advance Should I Book?

Most patients are seen within two to three weeks of the free phone consultation. Once you're ready to proceed, we'll offer the next available slot that suits your travel.
